Kwon Ji Yong (often known as G-Dragon or GD (용/yong in Korean means Dragon), though he prefers to be called Kwon Leader) is the leader and a widely accepted singer-songwriter, winning ‘Songwriter Award’ in 2007 MKMF (Mnet Km Music Festival). When Ji Yong was seven years old, he was chosen as one of the members in little Roora. G-dragon has been trained by the YG Family since he was 12 years old along with the fellow Big Bang member, Tae Yang. During their training, they were known as GDYB. The two have done collaborative work with the hip hop group Jinusean. The two have started out in music videos performing in small parts of the music videos.

Although the group in general is considered fashionable, G-Dragon especially is regarded as having a great sense of fashion. He even showed his interest to major in fashion.

Kang Dae Sung is a vocalist in Big Bang. During the auditions, Dae Sung was called "Unpretty Boy" and "ugly", but later, the staff team confirmed that Daesung is actually the most popular member in Big Bang. Dae Sung has been also been known as "Gag/Comedy Genius Dae Sung" (Gae Chun Dae Sung in Korean) with his great sense of humor and unique talent in imitating famous people and even animals. Although he does not have a Korean stage name like the other members, he has a Japanese stage name which is D-Lite. Dae Sung is known to have an obsession with "Doraemon", a Japanese animation.

Dae Sung released a digital song, titled. "날 봐, 귀순" ("Look At Me, Gwi-soon") on June 16, 2008. The fact that it was a trot song did not sit well with some fans. However, months after it was released, it continues to be part of music charts, showing that it was successful and extremely popular.

In the fall of 2008, Dae Sung became the second Big Bang member to star in a musical, playing the role of Tum Tum in the Korean production of Cats.[38] Dae Sung has also become a permanent of the reality-variety show Family Outing on SBS, on which he revealed that his IQ was 110 points.[citation needed]

After the 2008 MKMF daesangs awards his performance with one of Korea's Top Superstars Lee Hyori it was voted one of the best acts of the night.

Dae Sung got into a car accident and was sent to the hospital on the 11th.He fractured his nose,got some small bruises on his face and arms,and they found more fracture around his eye.

YG Entertainment later said, “We first thought it was a car accident, but found out that the car that Daesung was in hit the guard rail itself,” on the same day of an accident to Money Today Star News.

According to YG, the car was driving around Pyung-Taek City, Kyoung-Gi Province, under rainy conditions and hit the guard rail around 4pm after having finished shooting SBS ‘Family Outing.’

Also, according to company, Daesung was sent to the closest emergency room right after accident. After an hour of close examination, he suffered a fractured pleurapophysis and nose. YG said, “Hospital said pleurapophysis will heal naturally if he rests for about four weeks. We are planning to send him to a hospital in Seoul and get treatments.”

The "Big Brother" of the band is Choi Seung Hyun (최승현), also known as Tempo or T.O.P. YG's staff calls him Keun Seung Hyun, meaning Big Seung Hyun, to distinguish between the two Big Bang members named Seung Hyun. Before joining Big Bang, he performed in clubs and even won KBS Radio's "Rap Battle" in 2003. Tempo is one of the two rappers in the Big Bang and is also very talented in beat-boxing. Recently, TOP has successfully finished filming his role as the school's top fighter in a Korean drama called, I Am Sam. His character's name in the drama was Chae Mu Shin and his talent as an actor has impressed the fans and the viewers as well.

His childhood dream was to be an actor...but he ended up being a singer. But that does not mean that TaeYang has thrown away the dream to be an actor. He will be enroling for theatrical movie course in university in academic year 2008. He did alittle bit of acting in this movie called "Besame Mucho" which was screened in 2001...his part was really small but it was his first time acting. The filming took place in 2000 when Taeyang was still in elementary 6th grade.

Seungri is known for his dance skills. In his hometown, Gwangju, he was part of the dance group II Hwa. He has competed against his fellow Big Bang member Taeyang in several dance competitions, as well as against Super Junior's Eunhyuk, TVXQ's Yunho, and Shinee's Taemin. Seungri also choreographed some of Big Bang's dance.

Seungri became the first member of Big Bang to act in a musical with the performance in Sonagi in 2008. His next musical, Shouting, was performed in 2009 alongside another Big Bang member Daesung, who was unable to perform at the last minute due to a car accident. Seungri made his film debut in with the movie Why Did You Come to My House?, followed by My 19 alongside another Big Bang member T.O.P. The movie was released on November 12, 2009.Although his first solo song "Next Day" was recorded as part of Big Bang's album track, his second solo song "Strong Baby" was released as a promotional single for the group's second Korean album. In order to shed the "youngest member" look from Big Bang, Seungri promoted the single with a more mature look along with a stylized dance.

After passing the college entrance exams, Seungri was accepted into Chung-Ang University and began his college education in spring 2010, along with Yuri and Sooyoung of Girls' Generation.
